In Rattanakosin period, there were Muslims with various nationalities settling in
different parts of the country. One example is group of "Muslims originally from Ayutthaya
period" -- during the Burmese-Siamese War (year 1767) -- who had moved along the Chao
Phraya River, settled and finally became communities such as Talad Kaew, Talad Kwan, Bang Or,
Khlong Bangkok Noi, Khlong Bangkok Yai (Khlong Bang Luang), Pak Lat, and others around
suburban areas. Another groups are "Muslim from Malay City", "Muslim from Cambodia" called
the Chams, "Muslim migrating from Java and India" who made a living and settled in Bangkok
and nearby provinces. Moreover, there are "Muslims who were originally foreigner"-- later
migrated and settled in provinces in the North and North Eastern areas -- including Pathan 1 The Islamic Administrative

Muslim (Bangladesh), Burmese Muslims, and Chinese Muslims from Yunnan (China) who
