“Islam” is an Arabic word, meaning "the surrender to the will of God and
obedience to His law." When the word is used as the name of religion, it means the religion of
Surrender -- surrender to Allah who is the God. Islam has been the last religion Allah has sent

to mankind with his happiness. God sent Prophet Muhammad, the son of Abdullah, to guide man
and "jiin" or genie, to make the way of Allah to be the one and the only God and the guardian
over everything. Followers are to surrender to the will of God with satisfaction and willingness,
to obey the order of God and be away from what has been forbidden by him, and also to obey

to his judgement. Followers are to adhere to Islamic morals and ethics by following 5 Islamic
principles and 6 Islamic articles of faith. These are all to cultivate morality and consciousness
and thus, enhance harmony in the society.
