His Majesty the King Observing the trial hearing
under Islamic Law at the Pattani Court of Justice

In 1959, His Majesty the King went to Pattani Provincial
Court to observe trial hearing of a divorce case under Islamic law.
With appreciation of the presence of His Majesty, the couple in this
case ended up reconciled.

The Promotion of Education for Thai Muslims

His Majesty the King has concern for education of
Thai Muslim in the South, as previously, the highest level of general
education in the area was only at Grade 4. Due to the religious reason,
parents generally sent their kids to stay with Toh Kru at Ponoh School,
to learn and practice Islamic principles, without formal educational
curriculum. As a result, the kids were fluent in local language, but
were not able to read and write Thai language. Therefore, under His
Majesty the King's command, Minister of Education put effort in
improvement of both instruction and educational curriculum to fit
social and economic conditions of the local area. Today, students

graduated from Ponoh school are qualified for their higher education.
This finally led to educational and occupational equality in the nation.
With the king's profound understanding of Islam and
his graces to Muslims in Thailand, His Majesty the King provide
the same royal patronage to Islam as to other religious in the
nation. Furthermore, His Majesty the king always has his royal family
member representing him to attend Islamic activities. His Majesty
is truly a patron of all religions and beloved by the Thai people of
all races and every religion in Thailand.
