Initiations of Buddhist Ceremonies

                         Understanding the importance of religious
              ceremonies, kings play an important role in initiating and
              improve Buddhist ceremonies and traditions.  For examples,
              King Rama II revived “The Royal Celebration of Vesak Day”,
              King Rama VI initiated the first "Makha Bucha (Māgha Pūjā)
              Day", and King Rama V hold a royal ceremony where his son
              declare himself a Buddhist before leaving the Kingdom for
              his education in Europe.



              Performing Religious Practices in Important

              Days and Buddhist Festival

                         King of Thailand has performing religious
              practices in important religious days like Vesak Day, Makha
              Bucha Day, Buddhist Holy Days. On those days, King presents
              Kathin robes to monks, and also has his royal family member
              to represent him in those important religious ceremonies.

                         In addition, there are several other royal activities
              related to religion, such as education of Sangha, and propagation
              of Buddhism, etc.
