The Celebrations on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty
the King’s Birthday and the Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the
Throne: Religious leaders were granted an audience with His Majesty the King
for congratulatory. His Majesty the King also received congratulatory from royal
families, Prime Minister, President of the Supreme Court, Speaker of Parliament,
government officers, soldiers, police, and from people of all different sectors.
In addition, religious organization in cooperation with Department of Religious
Affairs, organize religious ceremony to worship His Majesty the King, and
arrange celebration activities throughout the nation. Some of the activities are
March in Honor of His Majesty the King, Blessing Ceremony for His Majesty
the King, Oath of Allegiance Ceremony for His Majesty the King, Auspicious
Religious Ceremonies, signing the book of blessing for His Majesty the King,
blood donation, charity, health promotion activities, seminars, exhibitions, and
Buddhist ordination, etc.
Religious blessings for His Majesty the King will be conduced based
on 5 religions, almsgiving ceremonies in honor of his Majesty across the country.
The Events under cooperation of five religions to strengthen
solidarity in honor of Her Majesty the Queen : These fellowship of religious
event has been hold for several times since 2003. The activities include worshiping
and blessing Her Majesty the Queen, Auspicious Ritual for 5 different religions,
making merit for Her Majesty the Queen, exhibitions, VDO shows, presentation
on local products and local way of living, art and cultural performance, lectures,
discussions, and signing the book of blessing for His Majesty the King, etc.
Other occasions, for examples; Helping victims of disasters -- like
tsumani, mudslide, cold weather -- in the form of “Mobile Fellowship of Religion
Caravan”, by bringing them the needed items like medicines, clothes, blankets,
etc., Strengthening solidarity through an biking event called "Biking for Harmony
of Community" where participants will be visiting religious places, get involved
in ecotourism, learn about cultures and community way of life.
Besides, every year, “the Pontifical Council for Interreligious
Dialogue” of Holy See of the Vatican State -- the central office of the Catholic
Church -- sends congratulation messages for important occasions of each
particular religion -- for examples, Message sent to Buddhists for the feast of
Vesakh, Message to Muslims for the end of Ramadan, Message to Hindus on
occasion of the Feast of Deepavali, and Message to Sikh on the occasion of
the feast of Prakash Diwas. Furthermore, Christians also cooperate with other
religions in organizing various activities related to religious fellowship.
