Ceremonies and Important Religious Days





                                                              Brahmin-Hinduism has been one of the oldest religions in the lives of many Thais
                                                   over  a  long  period  of  time,  before  Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, Thonburi  and  Rattanakosin
                                                   periods Every King has always given his support and patronage to religious activities. King
                                                   Rama IX of the Chakri Dynasty has revived many ritual ceremonies to enhance the stability
                                                   of the three main institutions: the nation, the religion and the monarchy. These ceremonies
                                                   reintroduce  ancient Thai  customs  and  traditions,  that  collected  and  passed  on  within
                                                   the culture to subsequent generations. These ritual ceremonies, the drinking for oath of
                                                   allegiance, the ceremony of the Coronation, the anniversary of King's Coronation Day, the
                                                   rites of oblation to the ancestors Kings and Deities who safeguarded the nation, have always
                                                   been conducted by the Brahmin masters of the Devasathan. These ceremonies are to bring
                                                   auspiciousness to the people and prosperity to the nation.
