The history and culture in Thailand has got influences from Brahmin-Hindu.
Evidences for this can be seen from name of places (like Ayodhaya, Lopburi and Dvaravati,
etc.) and from literatures (like Ramakien, Aniruddha Verse, Phali Son Nong Poem, Kritsana
Son Nong Verse). Influence of Brahmin-Hindu can be seen even from festivals (like Songkran
and Loy Kratong), and especially from royal ceremony which is related to royal institution
and happiness of the country. Samples of those ceremony are Coronation Ceremony, Sokan
(Top-Knot Cutting) Ceremony, Ploughing Ceremony, and Triyampawai-Tri Pawai Ceremony
(The Great Swing Ceremony), etc.
At present, Dhevasathan (Brahmin Shrine) is important as it is a part of Thai Cul-
ture and considered as a cultural heritage of Thailand. Bahmins still recite the Vedas in praise 1 Ganesh, in the Ganesh Shrine the

of Gods, to bring prosperity to the country and its people. Their duty is to integrate the faith for
